Debbie Keil-Leavitt will teach us how to "Chart like an Egyptian," in a recorded lecture soon to be available at this website. In this lecture Debbie will explain the "heliacal rising and setting" stars in your chart that act somewhat like another “Sun Sign,” and how the stars, in relation to planets and luminaries, speak of the passions that drive our lives. This technique enriches any reading of your astrology chart.

Mythology and Astrology have been "married" since our oldest records of humanity. The stars and planets, with their apparent motion and relationships to each other fueled the creative imaginations of the Ancient Wise Men, Astronomer/Astrologer Priests. At the same time our human imagination and ages of shared unconsciousness/consciousness have given us a working relationship with the sky.

Today’s workshop will introduce the Venus Star theory, which examines the influence of Venus and her five-pointed star. We will look at the dynamics of this star, its timeline and impact on historical cycles, how it affects our present timeline of world events and how it reflects the very transitional period we are presently experiencing.
We will also identify our own personal relationship to the Venus Star and what that means for us individually, our relationships and our life’s motivating principles.

About the same time that Jung was exploring the images in his unconscious that we now know as The Red Book, he also was introduced to astrology. At various points in the collected works, Jung discusses astrology and its ability to enhance our understanding of the psyche, synchronicity and large collective movements. Jung spent his life working on maps of the psyche, and he was fascinated with astrology throughout his life. This lecture discusses Jung's exploration of astrology and examines how the analysis of the natal chart can deepen our psychological understanding, particularly of the concepts persona, shadow, and wounded healer.

Christina Becker is a Zurich trained Jungian Analyst with a private practice in Toronto. In addition, she studied astrology with Liz Greene in Zurich and through the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. She also has an MBA and a BFA in Music. She is a professional member of the Inter-regional Society of Jungian Analysts and the Association of Graduate Analytical Psychologists, and a clinical member and Board member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists. Before she trained to be a Jungian Analyst, Christina had a career as a consultant and manager to the cultural and voluntary sectors.

Meeting Location Update
Lecture meeting location: The beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright designed Community Christian Church on the Country Club Plaza, 4601 Main, KC, MO (pictured to the right). Use the main church entrance. Here is the link to the Church with directions. Parking is south of the church. We are supposed to park on the 2nd level, as it's the bank parking lot; however, around 7:00 pm is probably ok for the visitor spots. If traveling north on Main St., turn right into the lot. If one is traveling south on Main, turn left (north of 47th St.).
Meetings will continue to be held on the 2nd Monday of each month, 7-9 pm, unless otherwise noted. In addition to all meetings, all special lectures and workshops will be held at the Community Christian Church. Please see details for the special lectures and events in March, 2012 for Arielle Guttman and April, 2012 for Dr. Christina Becker for times and locations. There are no regular monthly meetings held in March or April.
